Once again, I’d like to thank Sean Gardner aka @2morrowknight for the introduction to ‘chime.in’, via his blog post “Why Chime.in is Worth the Login“.
And indeed, ‘chime.in’ is worth your attention…..
This platform allows you to connect with people via what interests you as an individual, by simply searching for your likings. Speaking of people, chimers are a friendly lot and eager to express and engage in conversations related to their interests. But they’re also kind and extremely friendly, I find…..
And yes, am taking this opportunity to thank both, Stacey and Joel Godbehere, for making my first visit, a pleasant one.
Back to chime.in, you can also subscribe to whatever interests you and the topics are endless, from humour to art, from books to fashion, from tech to nature; and the list goes on. There are also a number of communities to join, for those interested in both rich and interactive content. If not happy with your findings, feel free to create your own, community that is……
Don’t hesitate to join mine, SoMe & You.
Now, as for the platform itself, is a user friendly and not much is required to create an account. Now according to chime.in…. “a check mark will appear next to your username on your profile page and in your Chimes indicating that you are verified IF you register for Chime.in by logging in via Twitter.”
However, I’ve been discussing the matter with fellow chimers and to their knowledge, your chime.in account will only be verified if you twitter followers count is 20,000 or more. Now, I actually did take the time and checked out other verified accounts, and it seems the 20K ‘situation’, if true, does not apply to all!!!
The privilege with a verified account? I can actually promote anything *I like. Chime.in allows me to upload as many as five images, which I can link to ANY site of my choice…. Love it!!!
The beauty with chime.in though, you can also include photos, videos, polls or links, in your chimes (posts), which you are able to share with your facebook or twitter audience. You can actually use chime.in as your main blogging platform with the ability to create posts up to 5.000 characters. Who’s smiling now?!!
“Chime.in is about connecting with interests and people – it’s an interest network. It lets you tailor the content you see and search for to the topics you care about, so you aren’t bogged down sorting through posts you aren’t interested in. Chime.in is also designed to create a richer social experience by integrating multimedia and making it easy join interest-based communities and to engage in real-time conversation.” The Team
Now, before I let you go, Paul Steele a fellow chimer and a very well know twitter citizen (@paul_steele), is helping ‘Cancer Reasearch UK‘. You see, Chime.in will donate a $1 to ‘CRUK’, when you register as a new user.
